injurious aficionado of the foot coverings...2/5/10

To know, know, know me - Is to love, love, love... all my shoes.

Alright, I will admit it. I have an excessive amount of shoes. Recently in an organizational frenzy I decided to clean out my closet. A girlfriend of mine dared me to take inventory on my shoe supply. Well, apparently I like shoesies more than my 7-year-old likes Sock Monkeys. I've got over 300 pairs of shoes. I had to give up counting due to exhaustion. No kidding. Part of the problem is that when I find a pair of shoes/boots that I love I tend to pick up a pair in each color. Or at least in black and brown. You know, 'cause once you've got a great pair that you adore you always think to yourself "If only these were black/brown I could wear those with THIS outfit today. Sigh."
That aside I started thinking now, I have all of these shoes, but they are never all in rotation at the same time. There are your basic seasonal shoes (sandals, boots, flip flops, etc), and then you've got your all season shoes (boots, tennis shoes, dressy shoes) that are kind of like all season tires. Good for everything.

Anyhow, here are a few pics of the shoes that are in the current rotation:

The Vintage Cowboy Boots. My mom picked them up for me at a thrift shop for 5 bucks. They look so cute with everything. I am in love with them. Now at first glance, I have to confess, I was unsure. Once I started pairing them with dresses, jeans, and skirts, I couldn't stop.

The Catch-all Tennis Shoes. I pair them with sweats, jeans, certain dresses, certain skirts. They fit like a glove. Their beat up look makes me love them even more. Nothing like pairing a delicate dress with a tough girl pair of trashed slip ons.

The Dressy Work Shoes. They pair up great with dress pants, skinny pants, and jeans. I am hung up on the studs on them. They have this edgy vibe to them. The toe normally would be a tad too pointy for my liking, but these guys pull it off.

The Brown Booties. I like pairing these with bare legs (they stand out more this way) and my neutral colored dresses and skirts. They also work with the right skinny pants, or the occasional legging.

The Black Booties. I have so much fun wearing these shoes with my going out dresses. Now I don't go out a lot, but I wore them to the work Christmas Party with a great 80s style dress and bare legs. Got lots of positive feedback. I also like them with the right skinny pant like the other pair.
