Isn’t this life an amazing mix of chaos and peace? Some days, even when everything is all wrong, things just turn out happy. And you wake up with a random Taking Back Sunday song on your brain. And life, my friends, it goes on!
Speaking of life, I like stuff in it, a lot.
Here are a few of Charissa’s current favorite things:
These guys (I know this is a little bit late, but I love their holiday photo x12).
Being a mommy is a lot of work, but it pays off. These two make every day better for me no matter what is going on. As long as I have them in my world nothing can hurt me. Best job in the history of ever. Oh, and the little dog, well he's not all that bad either.
Last year we discovered Shellac/Gel nail polish and like clockwork my dear buddy Jess and I get our nails done on what we refer to as "Nail Friday" every other week. It is so so nice to have a manicure that doesn't chip or look like crap for the whole two weeks vs a whole two hours with standard polish. Once you go Shellac, you'll never go back!
These Boots
So I currently probably have at least, oh, 40-50 pairs of boots (does that make me sound mental?), but for some reason I keep wanting to wear only these ones (AKA wear them every single day, want to put them on with my pajamas, and/or to take the dog out). I love them. They go with everything. They make me happy. Get some fringed moccasiny boots yo, your life will never be the same. I got mine at Kohl's, on clearance. I shoulda bought more pairs!
I was never really into the whole Sex and The City show craze, it just wasn't my thing. However, when the show Girls came out on HBO last year I decided to give it a shot. At the very first, I wasn't quite sold, but given just a few episodes and I found that I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE this show almost as much as I love.... OK, I just love it a lot. Anyway, if you're looking for a show to watch this is the one.
I am so obsessed with Pho. It has been my favorite food since April 2012 when we went and got some for lunch with my coworkers. I crave it. I will try to convert you to eat it with me. Just won Jessica over FINALLY. Come to eat some Pho with me. My favorite Utah Pho spots are Gossip, Thai This, and Pho Cali. By the way if you are not a Pho connoisseur it is pronounced Fuh (basically). And it is a rice noodle soup, I like the beef version. One day if I ever open a Pho restaurant I seriously want to name it 'Pho Q' just because it would be hilarious when someone asked "hey, where you going for lunch?" to which you reply "Pho Q" and they'd be all "Excuse me, never mind I was just trying to be nice assface!". Mwhahaha!
Apparently I think it's the 80s because I have spent the last year rocking The Smiths. Morrissey's original band really wows me and has me super hooked. Some favs to include (but not limited to): Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, and Girlfriend In A Coma. I mean who doesn't love lyrics like "And if a double decker bus, crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die. And if a ten ton truck, kills the both of us, to die by your side, well the pleasure, the privilege is mine"
PS - I still write poems, when I can.
Lashes
Can't quite explain
just
how
much
life
that doing nothing with you
leaves
inside
of
me.
